Original Songs and Tribute to Bill Staines

Jimbo Cary has been writing songs for many years and often uses traditional tunes for his melodies. Jimbo and his wife, Kim Cary have been performing Appalachian old-time music and world music in schools and festivals since the 1980’s.

Ken Janson arrived in Nelson County from southern Oregon in January of 2023 to settle nearer to family, and loves it here. He has been playing traditional music since his high school days, and in Oregon had a band, The Thrown Together Band, whose CDs were very popular. He plays guitar, pennywhistle and the balalaika, and these days specializes in 18th and 19th century Celtic and American tunes with happy forays into 20th country-western music. He’s been known to sing in English, Irish, Welsh, French, German, Russian and Spanish.

Michael McConkey loves people and performing. Originally from DC, he’d like to be known as a local sharing his love of life through music.
Lindsey Osborne is a local singer-songwriter who grew up in Nelson County and has performed locally for the last 20 years. She loves memorable guitar parts, catchy melodies, and great stories.
Pete Osborne started a band with three other guys in high school and played through college. He started writing songs during the late country rock period of the late 70’s and 80’s. Pete tries to impose unique melodies in his songs.
