CELEBRATING 25 YEARS OF COMMUNITY!
To Our Amazing Community –
We figured that this year’s Annual Fund and Membership campaign appeal letter would pretty much write itself, with 2025 being our “silver anniversary” year.
That’s a major milestone, and worth celebrating of course, but in fact, it’s really just a number.
Then it dawned on us that 25 years is also the length of a generation, and what the milestone represents most significantly for us here at the Rock is a transition between generations. Many of us remember the days when reaching that transition seemed like a long shot.
Honoring our Founding Generation…
So we would like to dedicate this year’s Annual Fund drive to the dozens of visionaries who dared to dream about a community center here in the Rockfish, and the hundreds of stalwarts who have devoted their time and treasure to give it life. We’ve had a lot of success in our first quarter-century, and we hope you’ll join us in early March for a back-patting party to celebrate this amazing place and the people we have to thank for it. Watch your inboxes!
…Welcoming the Next…
And while we’re celebrating, we’ll spend a little time talking about our next 25 years. The new generation of leadership is already stepping up to take the reins of the Rock. We’re proud to share that one of our long-term Board members was born after we were founded! We hope you’ll help us support this next generation of leaders with your continued membership in 2025, and perhaps consider a bump up in membership level or an added donation for the Path to Pickleball project as a bonus. The process is easy, and you can get started by clicking the button below!
…Looking to the Future…
The completion of our new James M. Cowley community playground earlier this year enhanced the atmosphere of our center in a very powerful way: no matter where you go on the RVCC grounds, the joyful shouts and laughter of children—and their parents, grandparents, and caretakers—echo through the air. In the earlier years at RVCC, the majority of our members and supporters were in the 55-and-up age bracket. Now, our halls and grounds are filled with family members of multiple generations…and we are wondering what RVCC will mean to future generations. What do you hope RVCC will be for your children as they grow—what do you hope it will be for your grandchildren?
…And Leaving a Legacy for Generations Yet to Come
All of us of a certain age inevitably contemplate our legacies – what we’re leaving behind that we will be remembered for. What better way to cement your place in history than to help assure that community will always have a place to happen here in Nelson County? We’d love to help you to help us make that a reality, and we’re here to talk with you about our ever-growing RVCC Legacy Fund that will make sure there is always a Rock in the Rockfish.
We wish you peace & plenty through the holidays and the new year. And thanks, as always, for helping us generate the spirit that sustains us as the Center of your community.
– Stu & Sara
