What’s pickleball?
Pickleball is a fast-growing sport that offers lots of health and social benefits for people of all ages. Physically, it provides a low-impact cardiovascular workout that improves balance, coordination, and agility. Because the court is smaller than a tennis court, players enjoy frequent movement without excessive strain on joints, making it ideal for older folks or people recovering from injury.
Beyond fitness, pickleball is also a powerful social connector. It’s a great fit for RVCC because it brings people together, fostering friendships and a sense of belonging. The sport’s easy-to-learn rules encourage participation from beginners, helping to reduce social isolation and improve mental well-being.
Pickleball also promotes healthy competition and teamwork, contributing to a positive mindset and reduced stress. Its blend of physical activity and social interaction makes it a valuable tool for maintaining a healthy and engaged lifestyle at any age.
Pickleball at RVCC
RVCC has two dedicated pickleball courts located west of the basketball court. There are also two additional court lines painted onto the surface of the basketball court (pickleball play on the basketball court must first be reserved by emailing events.at.rvcc@gmail.com ).
Play on the two dedicated courts is open and available to anyone during the hours of 7 am to 10 pm. If there are more players than the courts can accommodate, please use the paddle stacking system to allow players to rotate into and out of the courts.
RVCC members may reserve court time–all others play on a first-come, first-served basis.

You may also use the reservation calendar to see if the courts have been reserved when you want to do open play.
The dedicated courts may also be reserved for special occasions such as clinics or coaching (fees will apply). To make this kind of reservation, please contact events.at.rvcc@gmail.com for more info.
