FrogWatch USA- Central Virginia Chapter
FrogWatch USA is a nationwide citizen science program that helps monitor wetland health and amphibian population status by teaching communities to report on the calls of local frogs and toads. This program is headed by the Akron Zoo and has over 140 chapters across the United States. TJSWCD and the Rivanna Conservation Alliance have partnered to create the Central Virginia Chapter. You can join our chapter by attending a training session and choosing a monitoring site!
We had an amazing 2024 season, with 38 volunteers trained to date! Our Chapter was able to upload 244 observations to FieldScope, our data entry site. We look forward to a great 2025 season!
